Dorothy Barone, 71, of Spring Hill, FL, died on July 11, 2001 at
the Hospice House of Brooksville, FL.
She moved to Florida six years ago with her husband John Barone
Sr. Dorothy was born in East Meadow and moved to Hicksville in 1949.
She was the secretary for the Hicksville Mid-Island Senior Club.
Survivors include her daughter Cheryl Ann Hass; son-in-law Jeffrey
Hass; and her grandson Andrew Hass of Farmingdale; her godmother
Patricia Predoehel of Spring Hill; a sister Theresa Froehlich of
Winchester, NH; daughter-in-law Joann Barone; granddaughter Shannon
Barone and Jennifer Reid; great-granddaughter Chelsea Reid; and
great-great-grandson Hunter Reid, all from Spring Hill. Dorothy will
be united with her dearest husband John F. (77), deceased May 22,
2000, and her beloved son John F. Barone Jr., deceased Oct. 9, 1999.
Her sisters Anne Rossano (72) of Spring Hill and Helen Page (72) of
Troy, NH, are deceased.
A message from her daughter: If tears could build a stairway and
memories a land, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you all home
again to me. (Mom, dad and John, I miss you all dearly; you are
always in my thoughts, and will never ever be forgotten).
Kenneth F. Rice III, 34, ascended to God on Sept. 11, 2001, from
the World Trade Center. Loving son of Karen and Ken. Cherished
brother of Keith, Kyle and Karl. Brother-in-law of Terri. Sweetheart
of Maggie Suddath. Adored nephew of Jacqueline Borstel, Eugene and
Sandy Borstel, Douglas and Paula Borstel, Wendy and Douglas Bouchard
and Kathleen Millett. Fun-loving cousin of Tripp, Sydney, Ashlyn,
Andrew and James Borstel. Also Judy, Robert and Amanda Zwald and
Kate Hurley.
Ken was an employee of Marsh McLennan for almost 10 years; a V.P.
in the international brokerage and then technology division.
A memorial service will be held on Oct. 13 at St. Margaret's
Episcopal Church, 1000 Washington Ave., Plainview. Donations can be
made in his memory to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church or the NY
Police and Fire Widows and Children Benefit Fund, PO Box 3713, Grand
Central Station, New York, NY 10163.
Our thanks to all for their love, friendship and support during
this time of crisis. We bless God for the years we had to share with
Ken!
Margaret S. Sarluco, of Hicksville, died on Sept. 10, 2001. Wife
of the late Michael A. Sr. Mother of the late Michael Jr. (Barbara),
Linda Perini (James), Margaret Kircheim (Frank) and Rosemary Lehmann
(Paul). Sister of Edward and Marge Olechnowski and Alice O'Leary.
Grandmother of 10. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton
Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel. Mass at St. Ignatius Loyola RC
Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
